CCPD respond to domestic violence call at Woodbuy Place Apartments

The man's name has not yet been released but police said he was in his mid-20s.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi police were called to an apartment complex Monday after receiving reports of a domestic violence issue.

Police said it happened just before 11 a.m. Monday at the Woodbury Place Apartments off South Staples and Barry streets. Officers were told of a domestic violence issue possibly involving a man with a gun.

Because there was potential for a firearm to be involved, when officers arrived at the complex they had to use caution and called for the man to step outside.

"Fortunately this event was very peaceful," CCPD Captain Broyles said. "The young man decided to come out and talk to us. We'll turn it over to detectives from this point on and let the DA's office decide what they are going to do."

The man's name has not yet been released but police said he was in his mid-20s. He was taken into custody but no weapon was recovered. Police said there were no injuries.
