corpus christi (kiiinews) — Overdose Prevention classes are not only beneficial to first responders, but also to the families, friends and peers of those using opioids.
Those who attend a class will learn how to recognize the signs of an overdose, quickly and safely administer Naloxone, and perform overdose after care until EMS arrives.
Individuals who attend a class may also receive a free Naloxone kit.
Organizations interested in hosting an Overdose Prevention class for staff, clients or their local community members can call Alison Johnson, the director of Outreach & Prevention, at 361.814.2001.
