CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Coast Guard crews were busy Friday morning when they received a mayday call from a boater in distress in the Copano Bay.
Just before 7 a.m., a good Samaritan made the mayday call when they saw a boat catch fire.
According to crews, the fishing vessel was being towed when it caught fire and began sinking.
Coast Guard crews stayed on the scene to try and help salvage the vessel.
No one was on board the boat during the fire.
