CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) — A friend of the family of the victims involved in the Taft shooting wants to help the family with funeral expenses by hosting a barbecue benefit.
Terry Ortiz will host a benefit Oct. 27 at the Taft Little League Field, and there will be barbecue plates for $ 10, a softball tournament, activities for the kids and a car show.
Ortiz wants to put on the event to help take off the burden of funeral costs.
"It's kind of hard to bury for people, not just one, so we are going to try to hit that number it's $20,000. We are going to shoot for the stars and get it all and get it paid, " Ortiz said.
