Brian Burns hails from a small town in upstate New York but has lived in Texas since 1986 except for 5 years in Louisiana.
Brian comes from our sister station in Beaumont, Texas where he was an anchor and reporter.
Brian also worked Lafayette, La. He's familiar to many Southeast Texans after spending six years in Lake Charles on Channel 7 and later on Fox 29/11 TV.
Brian's wife Teresa, a Dallas native, passed away from ovarian cancer in 2010.
Brian and his young daughter Abrianna have made Corpus Christi their home.
He comes from a broadcast family as his father owned and operated a chain of radio stations in upstate New York. Brian went to work with his dad from the age of 12 spending many Saturday mornings playing newsman behind a microphone in a back studio.
After spending many years in radio, Brian switched to television news at Cable News Network in Atlanta. He's been in front of the camera ever since and brings his experience to the KIII newsroom.
Brian says he may not have been born a Texan, but this state has always felt like home. And to call Corpus Christi the jewel of the gulf is an understatement.
He says it's great to be here and to call coastal bend neighbors my friends.
