City Libraries invite the community to a special show: 'The Circus Chickendog!'

February 1 is 'National Take Your Child to the Library Day' and a circus act with Macaw and canine friends will kick off the celebration.

A family-friendly circus! Fun for all ages!

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — February 1 is 'National Take Your Child to the Library Day' and the Corpus Christi Public Libraries invites all families to experience a special presentation for the occasion.

The Circus Chickendog show includes one man, Scarlet Macaw, and five dogs. This show is a family-friendly event and fun for all ages. 

The first performance will begin at 11 a.m. at the Owen R. Hopkins Public Library, located at 3202 McKinzie Road. 

The second showing continues at 3:00 p.m. at the Anita & W.T. Neyland Public Library, located at 1230 Carmel Parkway.   

Organizers say this event was made possible by the American Association of University Women for the Sue Stanford Memorial Program and the Corpus Christi Public Libraries.
