CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The best things in life are free. This is exactly why ordained officiant Reba Gandara, with One Love Wedding Ceremonies, gifted couples free marriage ceremonies to celebrate a day of love.
"Love is one of the most free things that we can give anybody at any time," Gandara.
How much better does it get than to get married on national love day? Many couples wait to get married due to financial reasons, but that's exactly why the officiant offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
"I wanted it to be something special, that these couples remember forever," she said. "So, I wanted them to—regardless of their financial ability—to be able to solidify their love today with each other and just make Valentine's Day very memorable for them."
Now Gandara isn't the only one that specifically chose Feb. 14th out of all days to commemorate love.
One local couple, now Mr. and Mrs. Ranney, took the opportunity to make the holiday extra special
"She really likes Valentine's Day and I never actually did," Ranney said. "So because she liked it, I wanted to make it special for both of us."
Not only did they make vows for an eternity of love, but they also solidified a forever home to share together.
"We're going to eventually buy a house here in Corpus and this is our forever home," he said.
