CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — While most Texas businesses are allowed to open their doors once again, some here in the Coastal Bend have chosen to leave theirs closed.
Coffee Waves owner says their three locations will remain as a drive-thru service only. The coffee shop says financially, they felt the hit right away, but since then, the community ha stepped up to keep them afloat. Even though they technically can open up their doors to the public, they've decided to keep them closed for a little longer, simply because they don't feel ready.
"I really want to make the right choices and part of that is listening to my community and listening to my staff and I'm not going to make choices because I'm afraid of something," owner Cora Johnson said.
"We just weren't set up to open that quickly. We want to serve our community the best way we can."
