Island Report: Lively Beach hotel opening its doors on Padre Island

It's the first new hotel on the beach since 1983, and overnight prices will start in the $230 range.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — As area businesses this week struggle with closures, there's one business on Padre Island that's about to open its doors for the first time.

Lively Beach is opening its doors at Zahn Road and Highway 361 just north of Packery Channel. The hotel development will ultimately be 92 rooms from small studio rooms to those that can handle up to a dozen visitors each.

It features an outdoor recreation area, a pool, and access to the beach wrapped around the all concrete structure with a modern look.

It's the first new hotel on the beach since 1983, and overnight prices will start in the $230 range.
