A car accident in Karnes County claimed the life of a 53-year old man from Bishop, Texas, Monday morning.
The accident happened at around 7 a.m. on Highway 792 in Kenedy, Texas. According to Department of Public Safety troopers, a Nissan truck traveling northbound on Highway 792 hit a guard railing, sending it into the southbound lane where it collided head on with a Ford pickup.
One of the passengers in the Ford pickup, 53-year old Juan Beltran of Bishop, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others inside the Ford truck were taken to a hospital in San Antonio.
Troopers said 32-year old Benjamin Rodriguez and 23-year old Daniel Rodriguez of Corpus Christi remain in serious condition.
Investigators are still trying to determine whether fatigue or drunk driving played a role in the crash.
