ROCKPORT, Texas — Texas Rangers and area law enforcement officers were called Wednesday to investigate the death of a person at a condominium complex in the Rockport Country Club Estates.
A neighbor at the Oak Bay Club said she was walking by the golf course there when she saw a woman's leg sticking out near a patio. When she got closer, she said she saw the woman was dead with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head.
Police said they received the call just before 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Other neighbors said they were shocked to see all the police and crime scene tape because of how quiet their community usually is.
Two neighbors said they heard a single gunshot around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday night.
Police have not released any information but did say that the Texas Rangers are investigating. The victim has not been identified but neighbors said she is in her mid- to late-50s.
