CCPD: Crash in front of men's club investigated as DWI

Police say at least one person was inside one of the parked cars that was hit, luckily they were not hurt.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi police say a drunk driver could be to blame for a rollover accident that left several cars badly damaged.

The accident happened just after 11:30 in the 5800 block of Everhart, in front of the Palace Men's Club, when two cars collided. The force of that collision caused one of the vehicles to rollover and crash into 6 cars parked in the parking lot of that club.

Police say at least one person was inside one of the parked cars that was hit, luckily they were not hurt.

Damage to some of the parked cars was so severe they weren't drive able. But officers say victims may be able to get help paying for repairs through their own personal car insurance.

Police say the driver who caused the accident was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, but he is expected to be ok. At this time they are investigating the accident as a DWI.
