Two tropical waves in the eastern Atlantic have a low chance of development. These systems are battling Saharan dust which inhibit tropical development with dry air in the region.
We are watching some convection in the Bay of Campeche that may organized into a weak low later this week. However conditions look much more prime for development south of Mexico in the Pacific Ocean.

Tropical activity peaks in September, with longer-track storms developing off of the west African coast. Development is most likely as tropical waves approach the Leeward Islands. Most storms that develop in this region tend to take northerly turn toward Bermuda. Storms that make it into the Caribbean sea have a greater chance of traveling into the Gulf of Mexico.
