CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas —  An army veteran and his wife have asked for the public's help after a bike was stolen from their motor home downtown.

The Houston couple said they were visiting Corpus Christi last week for a convention at the Omni Hotel and, after they checked out of their hotel Thursday, they noticed the bike was gone.

Jesus Cansino said he is a combat veteran who served four tours between Iraq and Afghanistan.

His wife Vianey Salazar said he has PTSD and his bicycle was his therapy.

He said it was a way to de-stress, free his mind and a way to spend quality time with his family.

They said they parked their motor home with the bikes attached at the parking lot behind enterprise on Water and Taylor Streets.

"The bike, it meant something to me," Cansino said. "But I was...I just had shut down. I was just devastated."

Cansino said he is part of the Wounded Warriors Project and the bike was originally given to a friend through the organization.

He said that friend didn't use it that much and in turn gave it to him.

The couple said they are in the process of filing a police report, but they won't press any charges. They  just want the bike back.

The custom made bike is described as as blue with blue rims, made of carbon fiber, and has heroes for freedom written on it.

Anyone who may have seen anything or sees is is asked to call police.
