CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Linda Benavides was involved in numerous organizations in South Texas including the YWCA, the West Side Business Association, and the Chamber Champions to name a few.
Family says she died two weeks after having open heart surgery. She was recovering and set to be released from the hospital Tuesday but doctors made her stay through Wednesday. That morning, she suffered complications and died.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
