Houston-area man accused of pulling gun on kids who didn't want to play basketball with him

Benjamin Walls is facing two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A man is facing charges after he pulled a gun on a group of kids who told him they didn't want to play basketball with him last weekend, according to authorities.

It happened at a basketball court on Lonesome Woods Trail in the Atascocita area on Saturday.

Authorities said Benjamin Walls showed up at the basketball court and asked a group of kids if he could join their game.

When the juveniles told him they didn't want to play with him, authorities said, Walls pulled out a gun and threatened them and their guardians.

"He was like, 'stop staring at me or something bad's going to happen. he pulled the gun out, put it back in his pocket and then he walked,'" Laylah Simmons said.

"I guess I was a little bit scared, but he threatened one of my family so I wasn't really focused on that at the time but it kind of hit me later," Jody Simmons said.

Walls was found at his house and was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail. According to Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman, he's charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and his bond was set at $80,000.
