Developers submitted Thursday plans for the new Corpus Christi Alamo Drafthouse location, set to be built at Staples and Yorktown, in order to begin the permit process.
It was originally the site for "Movies and More," but developers decided to join forces with Bach Holdings to construct an Alamo Drafthouse.
The plans submitted Thursday called for a more than 33,000 square-foot facility that will feature a theater and restaurant combination with seven movie screens.
Each theater will house 4K digital projection screens, and alcohol will be served at the theater.
Jeff Dinger, the Portland developer who is building the project, said they are excited to begin the permitting process. Development Services said because the developers have been working with the City in advance, and it could be a smooth and short process to get the permit and begin construction.
The permit could be issued in two weeks, and the theater is expected to open in December.
