CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Beeville ISD released students early Friday after receiving and email threat.
The district is investigating the threat, along with the Beeville Police Department and state law enforcement.
Students who use school transportation were taken home.
In a Facebook post late Friday morning, Corpus Christi ISD said it is aware of the threats to other districts in the state but had not received one.
Corpus Christi Police Department also issued a release stating that it is aware of the situation, but that the threats are believed to be a hoax and are not coming from a "local source." The release also said, at around 10:30 a.m., that they were not aware of threats having been made to CCISD schools.
The Schools of Science and Technology in Corpus Christi also said in a text to parents that it received an email from claiming to be from a "Russian terrorist organization" that threatens violence at 1 p.m. Friday.
It has not dismissed classes, and said campus security officers are conducting searches.
The threats are not limited to Coastal Bend schools. Messages also had been reported by San Antonio and Waco schools Friday morning.
This is a developing story. 3NEWS will provide updates as they become available.
