There was plenty of dancing going on Friday as 37 graduates from the Mary Grett Transition Center received their diplomas. The students will now make that transition, one step toward independence.
That is the goal of the specialized school, which helps students with extraordinary needs become more self-sufficient.
"It's really important when we help our students overcome the obstacles that they have, to be able to find the connections that they have through their family or the community in order to be productive as they leave us, and to be able to have a fulfilling life," said Dr. Debra Stanley, coordinator of the Mary Grett Transition Center.
The students were presented with their certificates and then treated to an afternoon party.
