CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — It's a Corpus Christi staple that, even in the heat, brings thousands of residents to downtown. Regardless of the temperature or location, loyal viewers lined the streets to watch the 82nd annual Illuminated Night Parade.
The parade is a huge part of Buccaneer Days. Children and their families gathered at the festival near the Bayfront before they headed to the parade route.
Some families even set up their spot along the route days in advance. For weeks before the parade, local businesses, organizations and groups create their floats in hopes of winning big during the judging process.
The floats traveled past the American Bank Center, onto Leopard Street and then all the way down North Staples Street to Buford Street, where it ended.
