The Jim Wells County Courthouse is open for business after being shut down because of last Wednesday's storm, which damaged the roof and allowed water to pour in.
County Judge Pete Trevino said the county clerk's office still needs to be cleaned up. The county attorney's area had its carpet removed and is still in somewhat of a state of disarray. Tile is going to replace the carpet.
County officials are still working to get estimates on needed repairs like the new flooring that will be put down.
