The Kleberg County Commissioners Court took action Monday passing a resolution regarding the 3,680 acres along the northern boundary of Kleberg County on Padre Island.
The court voted to work cooperatively with Nueces County and the Texas General Land Office to arrange for the transfer of property interests from the GLO to Nueces County. Nueces County would have to maintain the area, provide law enforcement, and no development would be allowed unless Kleberg County approved.
Now it is up to Nueces County to approve of those conditions.
