CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A 15-year-old boy is recovering from a gunshot wound after witnesses say a group of teenagers fired several shots at another group in an 'unprovoked attack' Tuesday night.
Corpus Christi Police Department officers were called out to the 1400 block of Corban Drive at around 10 p.m.
That's where they spoke with the young victim and his parent.
CCFD also arrived on scene to treat the teenager's wounded leg. He was later taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
CCPD says witnesses told them that both groups of teenagers were standing around the area. One group was near an apartment building, and the other was across the street. Someone from the second group of teenagers reportedly fired several shots at the first group before everyone dispersed.
Those who saw the incident said the attack was unprovoked, and no arrests were made at the time.
This is still on active investigation.
