CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas —
The 16th annual Coastal Bend Day of Giving is finally here!
South Texas has the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of thousands of children, families and those struggling with homelessness.
You have until 11:59 p.m. Tuesday night to make the minimum of a $10 donation to one or more of the over 63 nonprofits in Coastal Bend.
Anything you donate will be matched by the Coastal Bend Community Foundation and 23 other local matching funders.
CEO and president of the Coastal Bend Community Foundation Karen Selim joined First Edition live from the organization’s headquarters with the history behind the Day of Giving and a message of gratitude for those who have already donated and will donate before the Tuesday night deadline.
Last year, South Texas raised over $4.1 million for local nonprofits. The year before, they raised $3.8 million. Selim says the organization is hopeful that the public will continue to raise the bar all for the benefit of charities that fight hunger, homelessness, improve health and support children.
