Cadets from the 76th Corpus Christi Police Academy made their final eight-mile run Thursday morning from the training center to CCPD headquarters.
The program takes 31 weeks to complete and combines physical activity with academics.
For one cadet the transition to a police officer is full circle since she began as secretary to Police Chief Markle.
"It is huge. It is something I thought would never come. Like I've said I've always wanted be right where I'm going to be tomorrow at graduation, and it feels really good," Amy Breedlove said.
Graduation for the cadets takes place Friday at the Selena Auditorium.
