CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Governor Greg Abbott was back in town on Monday, right before Election Day.
The governor was with State Representative District 34 candidate Denise Villalobos and State Senate District 27 candidate Adam Hinojosa, in effort to inspire more voters to help the two candidates flip those seats that have been long held by Democrats.
Abbott spoke with supporters about the importance of getting out to the polls and keeping Texas red.
"You have your vote, you have your voice, you have your own influence to get other people to go vote," he told the crowd of supporters. "What we have to do in the next 36 hours; we got to make sure that we're going to be making more of our team go to the field and fight on the field and fight all the way to the finish line. If you do that, you will be doing your part to ensure Texas remains Texas and that you will make Texas redder."
This marks his third visit to Corpus Christi in the past several weeks.
