CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — If you are familiar with the television show Tanked on Animal Planet, you will understand why it's such a big deal for Padre Island.
For seven years the Tanked aired on the Animal Planet on cable television documenting the work of Wayde King and Brett Raymer who operate Acrylic Tank Manufacturing, the biggest aquarium-building manufacturer in the U.S. as they built aquariums up to 60,000 gallons for everyone from NBA stars to rap stars and Las Vegas casinos. They built tanks out of all kinds of things from cars to beds and stocked them with all sorts of exotic fish and marine life.
The murals are up, the tanks are in, and the finishing touches are almost done. The stars of Tanked are expected to come in for the grand opening. They hope to feature local sea life, and already the jobs are lining up.
