CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The city of Aransas Pass is working on a 20-year master plan which will spell out what improvements people want to see in the city.
The master plan won't be completed until after the first of the new year.
The city held the third meeting on the master plan Wednesday called Navigate 2044.
This is an update to the original master plan, made back in 2018.
Aransas Pass City Manager Gary Edwards said there's been so much change since then that an update was needed.
He said that before Hurricane Harvey, the city had right around 3,800 utility customers.
Now that number stands at 4,500.
"This is going to be more development oriented,” he said. “Where do we want additional trails? Where do we want housing? Where do we want retail? And a lot of that's occurring already."
The city is going to continue to look for residents’ opinions on the future of the city.
