CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Art Center of Corpus Christi celebrated the completion of its $2.3 million restoration project.
The public was invited to see the new-and-improved art galleries, enjoy live music, and even take part in a community art mural.
With the money given by the city, the Art Center was able to re-do its roof and fix different areas of the building.
"The Art Center is a great place for families, and anyone of all ages,” said community relations director Chloe Green. “We offer classes and, just, free stop-ins for studio time, so we have all the supplies here, so come in and hang out."
Corpus Christi Mayor Paulette Guajardo was one of Thursday’s attendees and cut the ribbon to commemorate the celebration.
Upgrades to the Art Center include extended hours: It now closes at 7 p.m.
