CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — It was a big Thursday night for education and educators as the Corpus Christi Independent School District honored the 2019 Teachers of the Year.
Among the 58 campus nominees, it included the 2019 Elementary Teacher of the Year winner and the 2019 Secondary Teacher of the Year winner.
2019 winners are Ryan Bennett, a history teacher from Miller High School, and Azita Pardom from Kostoryz Elementary School.
Each winner got a chance to address the audience following the debut of their own tribute videos.
"It's really just a good time to celebrate what they have done. there are many teachers of the year," superintendent Dr. Roland Hernandez said.
Since 1969, the Texas Teacher of the Year program has honored excellence in classroom education.
