BISHOP, Texas — Authorities have identified two of the people arrested this week in a series of illegal gambling raids at businesses across the Coastal Bend.
Multiple agencies were involved in the execution of search warrants this week in Kleberg, San Patricio, and Nueces counties. The Silver Dollar game room just outside Odem, Texas, was shut down. There authorities found more than $17,000 from illegal gambling.
Another $18,000 was also seized from Elco Auctions, and more than $86,000 was seized from a home in Bishop, Texas.
The South Texas Task Force and Nueces County Sheriff's Department arrested 66-year-old Eddy Lee Frost and his wife, Karrian Dear Frost, of Bishop.
Both were booked into the Nueces County Jail and face multiple charges, including keeping a gambling place and engaging in organized criminal activity.
Other suspects were arrested in Odem by the San Patricio County Sheriff's Department on the same violations.
