CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Over 100 people attended the Council of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Awareness of the Coastal Bend’s ‘Bowl for Recovery’ event Sunday morning in honor of recovery awareness.
40 teams of bowlers gathered in support of the cause at Bowlero, where water, soda, and a breakfast were served for attendees.
Supporters packed the house, not just for those in recovery, but to honor each other and those looking to begin the recovery process. Kalynn Thompson, with the Council of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Awareness CC said she was happy with the turnout and hopes people needing help in the community know there is help if they need it.
"We're here anytime they need to reach out. It’s important that we, as a community, show up together and let those who are in recovery or are looking to get into recovery know that we are here," said Thompson.
There was a silent auction, raffles, bowling and good fun.
