Calallen Middle School is Hunter Strong

Fellow students at Calallen Middle School have joined together to design t-shirts that represent not only Valdez but also the school.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Calallen Middle School is hosting a fundraiser to help one of their own.

Recently, 14-year-old Hunter Valdez was diagnosed with a brain tumor after he was taken to the hospital for strong headaches.

Valdez suffered from intense headaches, and by the third day, the pain became unbearable.

After discovering the cherry size tumor in his Pineal gland, doctors immediately began giving Valdez chemotherapy.

Fellow students at  Calallen Middle School have joined together to design t-shirts that represent not only Valdez but also the school.

T-shirts designs have a hunter because Valdez likes to hunt and the pawprint of the "Wildcats" the mascot of the school.

The fundraiser is to benefit hunter and his family, but it also helps those whose lives have been touched by this.

Hunter has already had two rounds of chemo and his dad, Adrian Valdez says "he's still got a long road ahead of him."
