CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Investigators are now saying that the driver who nearly crashed into a home off of Weber Road on Wednesday morning failed to maintain a single lane of travel before leaving the roadway and hitting a fire hydrant and a stop sign before coming to a rest right in front of a home in the 3900 block of Bradford Drive.
Police responded to the crash at the intersection of the two roads shortly before 5 a.m.
Investigators told 3NEWS the driver of the red passenger car showed no signs of intoxication from the driver. There were no injuries and no arrests were made.
Those inside the house said it was a pretty scary wakeup call.
"I'm just glad we have a sturdy house," said homeowner Dacain Levingston. "To see this... I'm just glad he's okay. It could have been way worse."
The driver received a traffic citation for fail to maintain a single lane of travel. There was no significant damage to the house and the driver did not show any signs of intoxication.
