CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — An Aransas County man has been sentenced to 40-years in prison for fire-arm smuggling.
3NEWS first brought you this story in October of last year when Joseph Edwards was arrested.
Rockport police said he was responsible for 19 car burglaries, which included a theft of at least half a dozen weapons left in those cars by residents.
A total of 8 firearms were taken in those burglaries.
Upon investigation, it was found he was selling the guns in exchange for narcotics and cash.
Officials said those guns were returned to their rightful owners.
He now faces 40 years in prison.
