CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi drivers in the area of North Padre Island Drive and Leopard Street were shocked to see a vehicle taking on water in the roadway early Thursday morning. 3NEWS viewers took to social media to post and share images of the flash flooding event.
Jessica Lynn Pemberton was filming the flooding conditions on the highway when she spotted the driver driving in the driver of the stalled car appearing to exit his vehicle as it first began to take on water.
In the video, she can be heard saying "The interstate is a river. It just came to a complete stop."

The car appeared to be completely submerged by 11:17 a.m.
