CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Labor and Delivery units at Corpus Christi Medical Center Bay Area were busy ringing in the New Year by delivering some of the first babies of 2024 in Corpus Christi.
One of the first to arrive into the new year was Lily Barboza, born at 1:13 a.m. at CCMC Bay Area to Emily and Roland of Corpus Christi. Baby Lily surprised her parents and arrived a few weeks early. Delivered by Dr. Heather Dixon and Dr. Sandra Noriega, Lily weighs 5 lbs, 6 oz. and is the first child of new parents Emily and Roland. Because she was the first baby born on New Year's Day at CCMC Bay Area, her parents went home with a special gift from the hospital.
Later that morning, at 2:24 a.m., Samantha Centeno was born to parents Vessica and Luis of Premont, Texas. Weighing approximately 8.8 pounds, Samantha surprised her parents and arrived a day early to celebrate her birthday and the new year.
Finally, newborn baby, Collins Armondo, arrived into the world at 4:12 a.m. to proud parents Jocelynn and Andrew from Victoria, Texas, The parents welcomed their first baby, who weighed just under seven pounds. Baby Collins also celebrated her birthday early and was due on January 21, 2024.
