CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas —
Coastal Bend K-pop fans gathered today as the Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation department hosted their first ever event for the genre called the 'Deluluville K-pop Bash'.
If you aren't familiar, 'delulu' is a term used by K-pop fans to express their love for the idols they can become delusional over.
The event was a chance for enthusiasts to meet and connect with other fellow fans.
“The unity that K-pop culture represents, they're all about self-love, loving one another, coming together as a community and taking care of one another and nowadays we need that more,” President of KP Vibes Entertainment, Vivian Castaneda said. “Cause we're all different in our own way and we should all embrace it and love it and K-Pop idols do that."
Castaneda adds that our area is a great spot to bring bigger and better K-pop events, including concerts, which is their goal moving forward.
“It's our time to shine and let Corpus know and let everyone know K-pop is here in Corpus Christi,” Castaneda said. “Just as much as Fort Worth, just as much as Dallas and Austin. We are going to get just as big.”
