CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi Fire Department responded to a fire at a vacant house on Coleman Avenue and South Tancahua Street at 9:21 p.m. Tuesday, according to Fire Captain David Zarate.
CCFD officials said there were no reports of anybody inside of the house at the time of the fire.
Fire crews have extinguished the fire and are currently investigating what may have caused it.
To prevent the fire from rekindling Zarate said crews will go through an "overhaul" process to search for any pockets of fire that may still remain.
"We go through a good overhaul with chainsaws utilizing pike poles to pull some of the finish off of some of the structure to make sure there's no existing charring or anything that might cause fire to rekindle," he said.
