CCISD Board of Trustees candidates draw for ballot order

There are nine candidates running for four seats on the board of trustees.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Election season is in full swing as we head toward November and it's more than just the presidential and mayoral election.

Also running for office are the trustees for the Corpus Christi Independent School Board.

This morning was the drawing to determine ballot placement over at CCISD headquarters downtown.

The numbers next to the name of candidates show the order their name will appear on the ballot for voters to see.

There are nine candidates running for four seats on the board of trustees.

Including Samuel Aundrá Fryer who 3NEWS caught up with Monday.

"But the one thing that's so important is for people to understand that voting down-ballot is very, extremely important," Fryer said. "A lot of people focus on the federal elections. But in reality what's here at the city council, what's here at the school district is even more important."

School board trustees are responsible for governing the school district.

Election day is November fifth.
