CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Corpus Christi police department is expanding its telephone reporting unit with an app called WebEx.
The department said the move came in an effort to reduce wait times for citizens wanting to make a report for a crime that is not in progress.
This service will be available Monday – Friday, 7am-10am and 5pm-8pm.
How to take advantage of this:
Call the non-emergency line and select option 1 from the menu.
Request the Live Report Taking option when speaking to a call taker.
Download the WebEx app onto your phone or computer.
Ensure you have a camera and microphone on your phone or computer.
Ensure you leave a valid email address and phone number to be reached at.
The request will be placed into the TRU queue.
This additional resource is being made in an effort to maintain good service and to reduce the response time for in progress calls.
