CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi Water and other city leaders gathered in Flour Bluff on Wednesday to celebrate a ribbon cutting ceremony for a brand new elevated storage tank.
It's replacing an old water tank that was built in 1970!
The new-and-improved water tank will help provide a more reliable and safe source of drinking water for the city.
Water towers are strategically placed around the city for drinking purposes, for firefighters or in the event of an emergency, CCW said the new water tank is ready for any possible situation.
"This is a big day for us, for us to be able to showcase a really beautiful water tower, that's going to be here for the community for many, many decades," CCW Chief Operating Officer Drew Molly said. "As I mentioned before this tower is twice the size as the one that's here today."
