CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — While the cold weather is welcomed by many in the Coastal Bend, it is putting a damper on some Halloween plans across town.
Residents have been making adjustments to their costumes to brave the cold.
Every year, shoppers rush to stores for last-minute costumes, but this time, they're also getting jackets and layers to stay warm.
Halloween costume stores, such as Wild Wolf, said they saw an increased demand for costumes that provide more coverage.
"This Halloween is cold, so they are coming to look for top to bottom coverage, which we have pennywise, Beatle Juice that have pants," said Wild Wolf Assistant Manager Macayla Cerda.
Fright Night Haunted House Owner Brandon Gonzales said other ghosts and goblins don't mind the cold.
"Our actors do not mind the cold at all. It's so goof for them right now because its been so hot," he said.
Gonzales said the cool weather helps the haunted house actors keep their makeup from sweating off and provides a perfect way to end their final night.
"It just brings out the season. Its fall, its Halloween, it's cold now it feels more like the Halloween season," he said.
