CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — City council approved the first reading of an ordinance creating a sixth tax reinvestment zone Tuesday afternoon.
The creation of the zone is said to be an important part in order to launch a project to turn the old Pharaoh Valley golf course into an almost billion dollar European style village call Barisi Village.
The new development is expected to be built within 10 to 12 years.
Tuesday's reading was the first of two needing to be approved by city council.
