CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi City Manager Peter Zanoni informed the mayor and city council Wednesday that the combined water levels have fallen below 20 percent.
Wednesday's western reservoir levels reading of 19.9 percent begins the countdown to Stage 3 water restrictions.
What happens now is that the city will monitor those water levels for several days for change. If no positive change is detected, Stage 3 restrictions will be implemented at 11 a.m. Monday at O.N. Stevens Water Treatment Plant.
The Texas Water Development Board showed that water levels dipped to 19.9 percent briefly Sunday before recent rainfall pushed it back to 20.0 percent.
Corpus Christi Water COO Drew Molly appeared on 3NEWS at 6 on Monday talking about what those Stage 3 restrictions will look like. You can watch that video above.
