CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Time to get your cosplay ready and meet your favorite voice actors at the Anime Corpus Christi event this weekend! There will be hundreds of vendors, 17 celebrity voice actors, and new events available for fans to participate in.
We had the chance to speak with Demon Slayer cosplayers on First Edition Friday morning, and they say this year's convention will feature new community panels that will be led by attendees. There will also be a cosplay contest, and plenty of family-friendly fun and activities.
We spoke with Daniel Benavides, an event organizer and co-owner who says it was his love of Corpus Christi and desire to have more to do in the city with his family that first encouraged him to organize the convention.
Benavides said his family also runs a comic book convention in the city and that the Coastal Bend community is happy to embrace anime culture. Thousands are expected to attend this weekend's event.
You can get your ticket through the Anime Copus Christi website or at the event grounds at the American Bank Center.
