Corpus Christi hosts Texas Downtown Association Conference

The conference will go on throughout the week as the City's Downtown Management District continues to show off our downtown.

Corpus Christi (KIII News) — Corpus Christi played host Wednesday to the Texas Downtown Association Conference.

The annual meeting is a chance for 150 downtown communities across the state to get together and learn more about upcoming events and how they help represent each different city. Wednesday's meeting was all about learning how to develop a more vibrant downtown culture.

"Downtown is really the face of our community, so having a healthy downtown shares that we have a healthy community; but throughout the state of Texas cities are also trying to improve and operate their downtowns, so a conference like this enables everyone to get together and learn best practices to improve their cities," said Alyssa Barrera, Executive Director of the Corpus Christi Downtown Management District.

The conference will go on throughout the week as the City's Downtown Management District continues to show off our downtown.
