CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi Public Libraries is set to host several free eclipse programs leading up to the big event next Monday, Apr. 8.
You and your family can grab your two free solar eclipse glasses at all public libraries. An active Corpus Christi Public Library Card is required.
Corpus Christi Public Libraries will hold the following solar eclipse events:
Owen R. Hopkins Library, 3202 McKinzie Road
Monday, Apr. 1, at 4:30 p.m.: Solar Eclipse Special (all ages) – Join us for crafts centered around the solar eclipse and pick up your free pair of glasses. Limit 2 pairs of glasses per family.
Dr. Clotilde P. Garcia Public Library, 5930 Brockhampton
Saturday, Apr. 6 at 11:30 a.m.: Pirate Penny Goes Solar (ages 3 to 5): Join us for stories and crafts about the moon in the middle, an astronomical phenomenon!
Ben F. McDonald Public Library, 4044 Greenwood Drive
Saturday, Apr. 6, at 11:30 a.m., 12:15 p.m., 1:00 p.m., and 1:45 p.m.: Discovery Dome Eclipse Show – Watch a show about the upcoming eclipse in our mobile planetarium and make an eclipse craft. Online registration is required to enter the Discovery Dome but is not required to participate in the craft. Online registration at https://forms.office.com/g/ipAFQKYJeq will open on Saturday, March 30, at 10:00 a.m.
Monday, Apr. 8, from 1:00-2:30 p.m. Solar Eclipse Viewing Party (all ages) – View the solar eclipse with sun spotters and other safe viewing methods. Indoor crafts will be provided.

Monday, Apr. 8, at 10:30 a.m.: NASA Eclipse Stream (all ages) – Join us for NASA’s livestream of the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse.
