Police take man into custody after responding to domestic disturbance call 30 minutes prior

CCPD said the man was in violation of his bond conditions for a family assault charge.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A 25-year-old man is in custody after an incident with police stemming from a domestic disturbance in the 900 block of Poth Lane. Officers were in the area around noon on Wednesday looking for the wanted subject, Ismael Menendez Alvarez.

Corpus Christi Police officers said they had to taze Menendez Alvarez twice in order to restrain him while attempting to place him in custody for an outstanding Nueces County warrant for violating his bond on a family assault charge.

Authorities said the man was resisting arrest and pushed officers, preventing them from taking him into custody.

They had previously been advised earlier that day that the man was inside of the residence with a victim who lived there and that officers had been dispatched to the same location 30 minutes earlier for a verbal domestic disturbance between the male and victim, per CCPD.

After being medically cleared, he was transported to the City Detention Center for booking.
