CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Mayor Paulette Guajardo has declared a local state of disaster for Corpus Christi.
Her action aligned with Governor Greg Abbott's severe weather declaration for multiple Texas counties, including Nueces, to ensure that resources are available for those in need.
This is also a good time to remind you about the city's 311 call center and Reverse Alert system. This can be used on your computer or your phone. The app sends out weather updates, which are helpful to know, as we are still very early into this hurricane season. You will get updates on things like evacuation warnings, any flooded roads in the area.
You can text BEREADYCCNC to 888777 to receive important weather updates from Nueces County.
